2007 - Booking Terms & Conditions

Trip schedule:

LAND TRIP: Your group will be met at Medan airport and transferred to your private plane on Friday afternoon. You will be picked up at Simeulue's airport and taken to Baneng Beach Retreat. You will be taken on daily trips to the surf zones in southern Simeulue for the next 10 days. You depart around midday on the 11th day. You will arrive in Medan on the Tuesday in the early afternoon, in time for most of the outbound flights. Spend the night in Medan if you need to take a morning flight.
NB. Silk Air departs at 2030 hrs to Singapore on a Tuesday. Malaysian departs mornings only at 0930. Garuda Indonesia has several daily flights to Jakarta.*

LAND/BOAT TRIP: Surf on 11 days for the price of 10! Your group of six will arrive at Medan on Thursday afternoon. They will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the Danau Toba Hotel, where you will spend the night. On Friday morning you will be picked up, taken to the airport, and placed aboard your chartered plane bound for Simeulue. The flight takes approximately an hour. Baneng Beach Resort Staff will collect you from the airport and take you to Baneng Beach Resort. Surf for the rest of the day, and the next five days. Baneng's guides will take you to the waves each day. Or grab a motorbike, with a surf-rack, and do your own thing. On Wednesday night, step on to our live-aboard, and sail off into the night. Awake to find yourselves at the Banyak Islands. A full five days of exploring and surfing. Sail back, overnight, after the fifth day of surfing, and arrive at Baneng Beach Retreat on Tuesday morning. You will be taken to the airport, where your private plane will pick you up to fly you back to Medan in time for the afternoon outbound flights.*

BOAT/LAND TRIP: Arrive in Medan on Thursday afternoon. Get picked up at the airport and taken to the Danau Toba Hotel. Get organised and enjoy the sights and sounds of Medan on Friday morning. Catch a flight around Friday lunch time for Simeulue. You will be taken from the hotel to your charter plane. The flight takes approximately one hour. On arrival in Simeulue, you will be taken to your live-aboard ship, and set sail into the night. You will spend the next five days surfing the Banyak Islands, before heading back to Baneng Beach Resort. Here you will chill out a bit and surf Simeulue Island's southern waves for 5 days. Finally, 11 days after arriving, you will be taken back to Simeulue's airport for your return flight to Medan, arriving around lunch time, in time for all the outbound flights.*

*Airlines often change their schedules. Please consult with your airline to ensure you have the latest times so you can plan your connections correctly
SURFBOARDS TO AND FROM SIBOLGA WILL TRAVEL OVERLAND BY MINIBUS TO ENSURE SAFE ARRIVAL.

 

Package Includes:

  • All airport transfers in Medan (not Land Trip), and Simeulue
  • All transfers to surf breaks from resort
  • Use of all of resorts facilities
  • 10 nights accommodation at Baneng Beach Retreat on surfing packages
  • All meals, drinking water, hot drinks, sodas, three beers per day (live-aboard only), you are welcome to bring your own duty free liquor
  • Shore excursions
  • All necessary permits

Package “DOES NOT” include:

  • Medan-Simeulue-Medan flight for 'Land Trip'
  • Accommodation in Medan for 'Land Trip'
  • Excess baggage or surfboard surcharges
  • Cost associated with late board arrivals
  • Personal spending money
  • Travel insurance
  • Airport departure taxes
  • Passport and inoculation costs
  • Meals other than those specified

NOTE:

  • TRAVEL PROTECTION INSURANCE IS MANDATORY. Please advise us of your policy details .We advise "EVACUATION INSURANCE" FOR SURFING INJURIES
  • Shorter duration trips can be arranged if booked well in advance. A 20% surcharge will apply.

Payment Terms and Details:
(fees, deposits, cancellations)

2007 Surfing Expeditions are priced based on package rates quoted on Packages page.

  • 25% deposit to secure booking.
  • Full payment due 60 days prior to departure date.
  • Unsecured bookings will be held for 7 days or until required by other clients. Demand for prime time is heavy and it is recommended that bookings are made and deposits paid to avoid disappointment.
  • Deposit is non-refundable within 90 days of departure day, but is transferable to another available date, with the consent of Baneng Beach Retreat.
  • Deposit is totally non-refundable within 30 days of departure date.
  • Balance payments fully refundable, less any costs Baneng incurrs; eg cancellation penalties with regard to live-aboard ships, flight bookings, etc.
  • Failure to pay balance as specified will result in loss of booking dates & deposit.
  • Special rates are available for low season expeditions.
  • Baneng Beach Retreat holds no responsibility for death or injuries occurred during your stay.
  • Baneng Beach Retreat holds no responsibility for any loss or cancellation due to weather or natural disasters.
  • Payment or part payment constitutes your acceptance of these terms.
  • If the live-aboard ship has a mechanical malfunction, and cannot serve its purpose, every effort will be made to transfer the guests to another boat.
  • If there is no ship available, guests will receive a full refund for the days that they do not surf on the live-aboard ship.
  • If the guests elect to continue their surfing at Baneng Retreat, the difference in daily rate between Baneng and the live-aboard will be refunded.
  • However, Baneng Beach Retreat will not be held responsible for any halt in activities because of any kind of natural disaster.
  • It is recommended that guests acquire a cancellation and/or natural disaster insurance policy before flying to Simeulue.
