Baneng Island Resort is the original surf camp on the Island of Simeulue, North Sumatra.

We are perfectly located in the sheltered lee of Busung Bay only metres from a sandy beach.

The nearest wave, Dylans, is a five-minute boat ride away and we are in convenient range of several other premium surf spots.

Established in the early 2000s by surfers for surfers, our friendly and experienced staff go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy an unforgettable Indo experience that suits your pace and style.

Besides great food and comfortable accommodation, our all-inclusive Surfer’s Package (US$115 per person per night) includes unlimited boat and land transport with an experienced guide, ensuring that you are in the right place at the right time when the waves are working. Although we can accommodate 20 guests, we don’t take more than eight at a time on the Surfer’s Package.

We also offer a more affordable accommodation-only Traveller’s Package option (US$70 per guest per night, including all meals), which allows you to set your own agenda and go at your own pace.

So it’s up to you whether you want to surf from dawn till dusk or if you just want a laid-back tropical holiday – with a touch of snorkelling, fishing or exploring in between.

Our guests really appreciate the fact that from the time you are picked up at the airport till the time you are dropped off there are no extra costs*, allowing you to forget about all those irritating cash transactions.

Although we mainly cater for surfers who want to surf, we are also very spouse- and kid-friendly, offering a number of private double rooms and losmans as well as a spacious upstairs dormitory.

*Alcohol is not included.
